Michael E. Guerra, Pastor
Michael is a licensed minister with the United Pentecostal Church International (UPCI) and has lived in the Middleburg area since 2009. Born into a military family, he traveled frequently before settling into Jacksonville, FL, where he has been attending the First United Pentecostal Church of Jacksonville (First UPC Jax) under the leadership of Pastor John F. Hopkins III and Sr. Pastor Lester J. Green since 1996.
Over the past decade, Michael has had opportunities to live out his passion for ministry in a variety of ways. Working in the Student Ministry department of First UPC Jax, he spent several years serving as the school chaplain for Jacksonville Christian Academy, then Junior High Director, then Youth Pastor, a position he held for 5 years. During this time, he also assisted the pastoral team with general ministry duties, such as preaching, teaching, church administration, counseling, etc. In February 2013, Michael resigned his position with First UPC Jax to answer the Spirit’s call to plant a church in Middleburg, FL.
Michael is husband to the lovely Samantha Guerra. Samantha is no stranger to ministry, having taken his place as Junior High Director and serving along side him during his tenure as Youth Pastor with First UPC Jax. She brings to ConnectPoint a passion for teaching, family ministry, and mom-to-mom support. Together they are the proud parents of Loretta, Ruby, Josiah, and Adeline. Michael enjoys football (he’s a long-suffering Jaguars fan), writing and camping. Samantha enjoys crafting, blogging and Pinteresting. They are excited and eager to see what God will continue to do in the Middleburg community through ConnectPoint!
